Greetings!
Last fall I had the opportunity to participate in ePortolio 2007 the 5th Annual International Electronic Portfolio conference sponsored by EIfEL (European Institute for eLearning) in Maastricht, The Netherlands. This conference marked a significant turning point in the evolution of the international ePortfolio market.
A lot of cutting edge portfolio thinking has been occurring in Europe, particularly in the UK and the Netherlands. Many of the great ideas that have emerged over the years at this conference have now become real initiatives and projects. Some of the most exciting electronic portfolio projects that are being showcased focus on comprehensive workforce development issues. Nuventive is pleased to be participating in two UK-based initiatives that have tremendous potential. These projects are the Life Long Learning Network which is led by the University of Nottingham, and the Shared Services project led by the University of Salford. Both will connect Higher Education Institutions with employers through use of iWebfolio in a shared network. We believe these innovative projects will add to our knowledge about how to best leverage the exciting potential of the personal electronic portfolio. I am looking forward to ePortfolio 2008 and continuing our long-standing association with such an outstanding gathering of innovative and committed e-portfolio practitioners.
