Greetings!
I am very proud to report on the success of our recent users conference, "Improvement in Action", which took place in Pittsburgh June 18th-20th.The shared commitment to supporting continuous improvement in higher education energized all of our attendees.
Nuventive customers from across the US and from as far away as Guam were able to share exciting and innovative approaches from a wide variety of institutions, make new connections among peers and learn more about the direction of these solutions from the Nuventive management and development team.
As a kickoff to the conference, Nuventive was honored to host a compelling and thought provoking Keynote address from Dr. Belle Wheelan, President of SACS-COC. We are grateful to Dr. Wheelan for sharing her insights and helping to launch the conference so effectively. Thanks also to our many great workshop and session presenters who kept the interest and energy levels high throughout the event.
We also wish to acknowledge the conference sponsorship support provided by our long time collaborators Microsoft, SunGard Higher Education, and Expedient Communications.
Pittsburgh is a great place to visit in June - from great restaurants, to shopping and views of the rivers - we are glad that so many of you were able to attend. For those who could not attend the 2008 conference, we hope to see you next year.

MiraCosta College Implements TracDat

 Plan to Manage and Document Outcomes in Budgeting and Planning Process
MiraCosta received a letter from the regional
accreditation commission (AACJC/WASC) informing them that they
had just two years to complete the development, reporting and
use of Student Learning Outcomes in their integrated budgeting
and planning process rather than the five years called for in
the previous plan. This presented a formidable challenge.
The college, as part of its continuous commitment
to quality, had already developed an extensive number of Student
Learning Outcomes but needed an institution-wide solution that
would document, track and report them and whose methodology
could easily integrate into MiraCosta's existing budgeting
and planning process.
