Announces iWebfolio 3.1
Latest release of leading innovative electronic portfolio solution breaks new ground in collaborative solutions and extends technology leadership in the delivery of comprehensive individual and institutional assessment technologies
PITTSBURGH, PA, September 12, 2006
– Nuventive, a leading provider of individual
and institutional assessment solutions, today announced the
release of iWebfolio version 3.1, a leading electronic portfolio
management system for managing the process of individual and
institutional assessment and continuous improvement.
iWebfolio 3.1 delivers a comprehensive set
of technology enhancements for each of the key constituents
of today’s most advanced electronic portfolio solutions.
The new release delivers innovative new capabilities for portfolio
owners, reviewers, and administrators, as well as key staff
who are responsible for deploying and using iWebfolio as a part
of a comprehensive institutional assessment solution.
Shared Templates and Measures Library
As a leader in the electronic portfolio market, Nuventive recognizes
the value of sharing best practices between communities of iWebfolio
developers and users. In iWebfolio 3.1, Nuventive is announcing
the Shared Templates and Measures Library. This innovative new
resource enables institutions to access a shared collection
of portfolio templates and measures, including rubrics. The
Shared Templates and Measures Library is available to all iWebfolio
institutions. iWebfolio administrators can view, adopt and customize
any available templates to match the needs of their institution.
In order to foster innovation and sharing of best practices
between institutions, Nuventive encourages all participating
institutions to contribute templates to the Library. In addition
to the option of contributing templates to the Shared Templates
and Measures Library, institutions can choose to share individual
templates with specific institutions. Each institution can set
policies about whether and how templates and measures can be
shared.
"We are very excited about the new release
of iWebfolio 3.1", said Royce Robertson, Assistant Professor
of Education & Technology at Plymouth State University.
"The ability to share templates and measures, such as our
INTASC Standards template, will stimulate conversations with
other institutions about what is good portfolio design and assessment.
The Shared Templates and Measures Library is an innovative approach
to increasing the collaboration and shared expertise among the
rapidly growing number of iWebfolio institutions, administrators
and users."
iWebfolio InsightTM Institutional
Portfolio Solutions
Nuventive is breaking new ground by delivering powerful new
capabilities designed for the most demanding programmatic and
institutional portfolio users. Whether the institution is actively
engaged in the program review process, describing and documenting
their philosophy and process for institutional assessment, or
progressing through formal accreditation, the institutional
portfolio can play a key role. iWebfolio Insight™ is a
powerful tool for presenting and articulating both institutional
processes and notable outcomes. With iWebfolio Insight, the
institution can effectively collaborate and communicate with
all of the key constituencies while documenting feedback from
all reviewers. “iWebfolio Insight provides a powerful
set of enhancements to the institutional assessment capabilities
of the Nuventive product line,” said Michael Choban, Director
of Assessment and Chair of the Assessment Council at West Virginia
Wesleyan College. “Faculty and decision makers within
the institution are now able to easily access and present outcome
results and document progress toward the goals and objectives
of their programs and the institution”. From board members
to accrediting agencies, all stakeholders can be provided efficient
access to relevant institutional information.
Configurable Branding
As the use of iWebfolio solutions expands across a variety of
different organizations and institutions, Nuventive customers
have requested new ways to configure the look and feel of the
application. New configuration options in iWebfolio 3.1 now
enable application administrators to easily match the branding
of the organization, school, or institution. These configuration
settings are easy to develop and deploy and do not require custom
services engagements. Updates and adjustments can be easily
made at any time.
iWebfolio Account Management
Nuventive has introduced a number of enhancements in iWebfolio
3.1 that will significantly increase the productivity of electronic
portfolio administrators. The most important new account management
feature enables administrators to establish new accounts or
renew existing accounts through a simple email notification
process. The new Bulk Account Management module will improve
the productivity of administrators and facilitate distribution
throughout the campus and online course delivery communities.
With iWebfolio 3.1, administrators can now choose physical or
online delivery of user licenses and account information and
access new tools to facilitate this process. The new Bulk Account
Management module is available to all iWebfolio administrators.
Customers of SunGard Higher Education’s Banner software
can utilize a version of this solution developed specifically
for iWebfolio customers utilizing Workflow. Never has account
management been easier!
Usability and Convenience Enhancements
Presentation Options and Feedback
Portfolio owners and reviewers will notice a number of usability
and convenience enhancements in iWebfolio 3.1. Two new styles
with two navigation options have been added boosting the presentation
style choices to a total of 40. New feedback options enable
viewing and printing of feedback in a variety of ways.
File Management
iWebfolio 3.1 introduces a new advanced file upload capability
that enables users to drag/drop and copy/paste files, including
images, from the desktop. Entire directories or folders can
now be uploaded. In addition, version 3.1 includes new enhancements
to facilitate the uploading and re-sizing of images. To enable
users to spend their time building compelling portfolios, not
finding and uploading files, iWebfolio 3.1 now supports three
different uploading methods: browse and upload; advanced file
upload and upload via a WebDav folder for desktop editing.
“Nuventive has once again demonstrated
their ability to execute on their market leading vision of the
potential of electronic portfolios” said Kathy Cummings,
Associate Dean in the College of Education at Western Michigan
University. “The company has a strategy that goes well
beyond the traditional thinking of task and purpose-built tools
that are limited to an institution or a department. iWebfolio
3.1 reflects a unique understanding of the powerful implications,
value and collaboration opportunities presented by advanced
electronic portfolio solutions.”
“Nuventive was founded on a principal
of improving the quality of education at the individual and
institutional level”, said Dr. David Raney, Nuventive
CEO. “In order to help institutions and individuals meet
their goals of continuous improvement, we are constantly developing
new ideas that can increase creativity and productivity. The
Nuventive team believes that iWebfolio 3.1 can help launch the
