Announces Major Upgrade to Industry Leading Solution for Institutional
Assessment and Accreditation
TracDat 4 Continues to Define the Industry Standard Solution
for Institutions Focused on Continuous Educational and Organizational
Improvement
PITTSBURGH, PA, August 13, 2007
– Nuventive, a leading provider of individual and institutional
assessment solutions, today announced TracDat Version 4, the
latest innovation for Institutions focused on Quality Improvement.
TracDat 4 further extends Nuventive leadership in Enterprise
Outcomes Assessment with significant enhancements to the powerful
improvement process management solution relied on by leading
colleges and universities across the country. With innovative
new features that streamline outcomes data collection, reporting,
and most importantly increase the ease of faculty and staff
involvement in the assessment process, Nuventive has once again
defined the industry standard. TracDat 4 supports enterprise
wide strategic planning, academic and administrative outcomes
management, and both regional and specialized accreditation.
The latest release of TracDat represents a
substantial development effort that involved Nuventive executives
conducting extensive customer, prospect, competitive and industry
research in order to define a Best in Class solution for the
marketplace. Nuventive customers are impressed by the breadth
and depth of the TracDat 4 solution. “I especially like
the fact that institutional research, assessment and strategic
planning could all be handled from this system!” said
Larry Ort, PhD, VP and Dean for Institutional Planning, Assessment
and Research, University of Sioux Falls.
Highlights of Key
TracDat 4 Capabilities
TracDat 4 includes extensive enhancements for many different
types of institutions—from small private colleges to community
and technical colleges, for-profit institutions and state universities
and state-wide systems.
New Calendar/Task Assignment System
This new module dramatically simplifies and encourages broad
participation in the assessment process from faculty and staff
by using email to assign and monitor task completion regardless
of whether or not the email recipient is a TracDat user. By
extending TracDat assignments to anyone with email, Nuventive
has minimized the training necessary to provide this unprecedented
access. Available integration with Outlook, Lotus Notes, etc.
facilitates campus-wide adoption within the institution.
Advanced New Data Collection Capabilities
The new data collection tool enables forms-based email collection
of data for any set of parameters to any cohort. It provides
a powerful method for gathering course level information across
many sections of the same course taught by multiple faculty
members. “This important new capability can streamline
and simplify the process of data collection for faculty. We
are very pleased that Nuventive really listens to its users
and incorporates their ideas and requests when upgrading TracDat,”
said Margie Hobbs, PhD, Associate Director of Institutional
Research and Assessment at the University of Mississippi.
Robust File Manager
Data is stored within TracDat in folders for use by the Institution,
Reporting Units or Assessment Units so that the right people
can get access to key information when and where it is needed.
Comprehensive Assessment Summary
TracDat 4 offers authorized users 24 x 7 access to key data
and information:
- Role-based view — Institution,
Reporting Unit and Assessment Unit status
- Progress and tasks at any level with detail
for subunits
- Number and type of Goals by level
Powerful Reporting Engine
Enhanced configurable reports in TracDat 4 include the ability
to hide and rename reports and support PDF and HTML format report
output. Additional reporting features are scheduled for release
in late fall 2007 and include the ability to create, save, schedule
and re-run custom reports.
Configuration & Customization
Extensive use of dynamic labeling in TracDat 4 enables institutions
to utilize their own assessment nomenclature within the application.
New fields can be created and placed in any order and labels
can be standardized by the Institution or Reporting Units. "We
are very impressed with the process that Nuventive used to collect
customer input for the development of functional enhancements
to TracDat", said Ruth Gill, Applications Manager, Information
Technology at Montgomery College. "The Nuventive staff
was very responsive to our requests and recommendations. TracDat
4 extends and enhances the flexibility and configurability that
was already present in our current TracDat implementation. The
privacy, security and ease of use of TracDat 4 will allow us
to continue to build faculty acceptance."
Integration with Key Institutional
Systems of Record
Integration with Nuventive iWebfolio extends the ability to
collect and manage student outcomes via an advanced and flexible
electronic portfolio solution. TracDat 4 also integrates with
Nuventive Insight, extending the ability to flexibly present
outcomes securely to a variety of audiences.
Nuventive customers have expressed strong
support for the capabilities of the new release of TracDat.
“The new capabilities of TracDat 4 will help us in managing
the assessment process as well as maintaining records of assessment
data, said Katharine E. Cummings, PhD, Associate Dean, College
of Education, Western Michigan University. “The new dashboard,
for example, assists administrators in gaining a quick snapshot
of the progress of assessment efforts in academic and administrative
units on campus. I’m most excited about the new calendar
capability in TracDat 4—this feature addresses the need
for consistent collection, analysis, and application of assessment
data.”
Comprehensive Solution
“I really liked what I saw from the demo of TracDat 4.0”,
said Wrenette Tedder, Assessment Director, Henderson State University.
Nuventive really stepped up and listened to the needs of their
clients. I believe the changes made will benefit Henderson.
I can’t wait to actually have the new version on our campus!”
Community and Technical Colleges
TracDat 4 supports the diverse needs of a broad range of institutions.
Continuous Improvement solutions, for example are a vital part
of the process for Community and Technical Colleges to successfully
compete for scarce state and federal education funds. “We
are very excited about the new features of TracDat 4. We are
eager to schedule our upgrade, said John Thibodeau, Associate
VP, Institutional Effectiveness, Gateway Technical College.
“We are extremely proud to have played an instrumental
role in the market for Continuing Institutional Improvement
solutions for almost ten years”, said Gary Choban, Nuventive
CTO. “TracDat 4 represents a continuation of our tradition
of thought leadership and ability to deliver comprehensive solutions
for our most demanding customers. We look forward to helping
a whole new generation of leading institutions which recognize
that accountability and assessment are key components in the
long-term success of their educational programs.”
