Chief Executive Officer
David Raney has provided strategic and operational leadership for Nuventive since its inception in 2000. He has been involved in business creation since completing formal medical training. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Raney founded two innovative programs at the Children’s Hospital of Denver. Dr. Raney joined the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 1993, where numerous new programs/business units were created under his leadership.
Dr. Raney left academic medicine in 1999 to become an entrepreneur. In addition to serving as CEO of Nuventive, he led the growth of a medical software line and a human services software and consulting company.
Dr. Raney holds an MD degree from Vanderbilt University and a BA in psychology from the University of California, Davis.
Senior Vice President and Chief Product Officer
Gary Choban has been responsible for the product strategy for Nuventive since its inception and is widely regarded as a leading technology innovator in the Enterprise Assessment market. Prior to his promotion to Senior VP and CPO, Mr. Choban was the CTO leading the technology platform and application development for the TracDat and iWebfolio product lines, and has successfully recruited and led a market-leading development team focused on rapid innovation.
Mr. Choban has held Information Systems management positions at companies such as Rexnord Automation, Texas Instruments, EOG, Inc. and RDA Consultants Ltd. Successful projects led by Mr. Choban include components of MCI “Friends & Family” marketing software and the USA Today “Fantasy Baseball League” software. He is also a founder and principal of Innervate, a licensor of certain software technology to Nuventive. Mr. Choban holds a BS in Computer Science from West Virginia Wesleyan College.
Chief Technology Officer and Lead Architect
Jason McElravy has been applying his technical knowledge, development skills and creativity to Nuventive’s product suite since coming aboard in 2004. While growing into Nuventive’s senior technical leader, he has been responsible for the application architecture, development and technology platforms of TracDat, iWebfolio, Insight, PlanningPoint and ActionPoint. Jason’s professional motto is: “Anything is possible given enough time and resource.”
Mr. McElravy is beginning his third decade in Information Technology since graduating from the University of Pittsburgh with a BS in Computer Science. Prior to joining Nuventive, he worked for companies in fields ranging from logistics to e-commerce. As web development supervisor at Fisher Scientific, he oversaw the development and management of FisherSci.com as its daily transaction volume grew from thousands to millions.
Vice President of Sales
Scott Johnson is vice president of the commercial operations of Nuventive and leverages over 20 years in the software industry bringing extensive global operations, sales, marketing and consulting experience to Nuventive’s leadership team. Johnson leads Nuventive’s market and growth strategies and has worked closely with Nuventive’s customers in Europe, Australia and throughout North America. Johnson is a regular speaker on using technology in assessment and has presented at conferences in Australia, France, UK and Dubai as well as North America.
Johnson’s prior industry experience includes managing international operations in addition to starting, building and expanding business units in North America, Europe, and Latin America. Prior positions include Managing Director Siebel Systems (now Oracle), Managing Director JDEdwards (now Oracle), Director of Applications Oracle and Senior Consultant Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). During a sabbatical year in 2001/2002 Johnson, along with his wife Susan built a library and then served as volunteer librarians in a small private Spanish K-10 school in Denia (Alicante), Spain.
Johnson is an alumna of the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He also holds graduate degrees in computer science from Stephen F. Austin State University and in international management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. Johnson is a CPA (inactive) in the state of Texas.
Director of Services
David Choban has led Nuventive’s services since 2003. Mr. Choban came to Nuventive with a broad technology background including the successful role as lead developer of a medical education software suite. His knowledge of the development process and close contact with customers through service delivery has been invaluable in supporting rapid innovation of Nuventive’s products.
David Choban has held various positions of responsibility at several companies including Systems Engineer at Teledyne Brown Engineering and Software Engineer at Logicon Systems Inc. Mr. Choban joined Innervate, a licensor of technology to Nuventive in 1995 as project leader on Innervate’s eSystant Suite software products and subsequently joined Nuventive.
He holds a BS in Physics/Engineering from West Virginia Wesleyan College.
